AWW comes back to Walsall this Friday, ready for another night of non-stop grappling action! Read on to get the lowdown on Friday’s matches…
AWW Championship Match
Dan Ryder © (w/Mrs Ryder) vs. MK Mikinan
MK Mikinan’s long road is almost at an end. Dan Ryder’s former pupil has been on a 7-month quest for vengeance, after being wronged by his former mentor way back towards the end of last year.
Hometown hero Mikinan has been through the wringer in pursuit of Ryder, and finally has the chance to get the revenge he so desires by taking the AWW title from Ryder this Friday. MK feels he has what it takes, but will the student be able to overcome the teacher, and finally reach the very top of the company? Find out this Friday!!
The Hunter Brothers vs. Spud & T-Bone
Tag Team Tournament Finalists, Lee and Jim Hunter will be in action this Friday, facing off against “The Rockstar” Spud, and his newly rejuvenated bodyguard, T-Bone.
Lee and Jim have found a fair amount of trouble heading their way ever since claiming their place in the final, but have somehow managed to persevere through. Now they put their tag skills to the test as they face up to “The Rockstar” and his man mountain of muscle. T-Bone found himself back to winning ways at our last show, and you can bet that Spud is looking to climb back up the ladder towards the AWW Title himself.
Will Spud and T-Bone stay on the same page, or will the tag experience of the Hunters be too much for them?
“The Sheriff” JK Royde vs. Lucian L. Jones
Jones has been on fine form but in a foul mood since being cheated out of the AWW Championship at the end of February, with wins over Dave Williams, Dan Ryder and none other than the AWW Commissioner Desirable Danny D!
The question remains though, will Jones’ roughhouse brawling style be effective against “The Sheriff”, a very different proposition to Jones’ last few competitors. Losing his regular height and reach advantage and weighing in at some 42lbs lighter than Royde questions abound as to whether Jones has got what it takes to beat the big man. Royde certainly has the size and strength advantage and has shown himself to be a cold and calculating opponent in previous matches.
Still undefeated since his arrival at AWW with a record of 7-0-0 Royde is surely the bookmaker’s favourite. History has shown us though, that it would be very unwise to underestimate the tenacity and versatility of Lucian L Jones, who seems to have made a career of overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds.
The stage is set, will AWW’s favourite outlaw find a weakness in The Sheriff’s armour, or are the taxes in Jonestown set to soar?
Steve Valentino vs. “Thee Magnificent One” Heratio
The storied rivalry between Carnatio and Pretty n Punk continues to rage, as Heratio faces Steve Valentino at Walsall. Heratio fell foul of interference from Valentino at our last Weoley Castle show, and will be looking to take out his frustrations on Steve this Friday. We know that Valentino’s partner Anarchy will be in attendance, can Heratio take down Steve Valentino while watching his back at the same time.
Tenacious Lee vs. Anarchy
This is the third time these two competitors have met at Walsall, with the score at the moment at one win a piece. The man they call Tenacious Lee hasn’t had much luck in the last few months, still not managing to chalk a win up in 2010. But if you cast your mind back to the last time Lee put a mark in the win column, it came at Anarchy’s expense at a Walsall show.
Will history repeat itself, or will the Prince of Punk deny Lee the win he wants so badly?
Join us THIS FRIDAY 23rd April at the Saddler’s Club, and get in on the action!
